Our A&Rs rate the Mona Lisa Project the best Rap CD that has not been discovered hands down. Will their ever be a CD this good that is not main stream.
This Rap CD is a really nice range of funky Rap Tracks that you really can't keep still to, for a change a variation of excellent rhyming to Rap music with no swearing! Really… it’s a work of art! The Rap Music on this CD really lives up to its name, The Mona Lisa Project. Definitely a must have... The Album hits all genres… and can be played on any radio station for all ages.
I initially hated Rap Music, says one of our web developers, but afterwards my kids loved this right off the back. I had to listen with a different ear and I must say it does have a nice swing to it. It’s like one song made me listen to the next and then I wanted to keep hearing more and more. I can’t wait to see the album that will take The Mona Lisa Project's place. Good job Face and all who helped with this CD.
The name Face may not be unknown to many, but not for long. With his debut album "The Mona Lisa Project," he is set to take music by storm. Born in Washington, DC, Face began rapping and producing at the age of fourteen and formed the rap duo Relentless with friend Samuel "Redd" Keys. The two got their first break when they were signed to Fresh Gruv Records in Washington, DC. Under the label the two went to work and recorded their EP "Relentless," featuring the single "Relentless Life." Unfortunately the label folded and the EP was never released.
Never one to give up, Face went back to producing and pursued a career as a recording engineer at MC Sounds Recording Studio in Forestville, Maryland. He continued to hone his production and rapping skills by producing and appearing on tracks for clients. Later he continued his engineering career at Night Flight Recording Studio in Fort Washington, MD under the direction of Kevin Jackson and Scotty Beats. After the tragic passing of friend and colleague Scotty Beats, Face realized his lifelong dream and went on to build his own recording facility, Phase Recording & Media with his brother Tarik "TK" Johnson where he recorded and mixed "The Mona Lisa Project."
Face also went on to form Hipnotic Music, LLC with partner Raimon Jackson, and began working with local and upcoming artists, as well as some seasoned veterans in the entertainment world, including Raheem DeVaughn, T-Pain, Chucky Thompson, Bun B, Wale, Chuck Brown, Tabi Bonney, Lil Boosie, Mya, David Banner, Lil Mo, and more. The Mona Lisa Project is as refreshing as a cool breeze on a hot summer day. In a world of gimmicky rappers, this album establishes Face as a true MC. Taking the helm as producer as well, The Mona Lisa Project features some of the hottest production and live instrumentation.
