We have done research on various record labels, production, and management companies. What we have found is mind-boggling. There are several things that put you at a disadvantage.
First, just learning the business can be very time consuming. There's so much to learn and the information is always changing. Now we all know professional recording artists have a staff of Managers, Label REPs and Lawyers to keep them up on all the newest information. Imagine having a team behind you educating you on all you must do to take your music to the next level. Your possibilities would be endless.
The next problem is time. Once you have worked all day, you don't have enough time to work on your music. Some try staying up late in the studio or practicing until very late hours, just to find themselves fighting to get up for work the next morning. This may work once or twice through out the week but then your spare time for music turns into catching up on sleep time. Then you start to just give up for a while and concentrate on work. Recording artist just don't have this problem.
Now the main Reason why your music career is not moving is... "Lack of Money” Do You Agree?
I agree, money is the main reason why its so hard to get out there. without the capital its hard to even get off the block. I also believe we need more contest for the ones that make music for the streets.
